Gaelscoil Éanna

Bóthar Bhaile Átha Troim, An Uaimh, Co. na Mí

 Focal fáilte ón bPríomhoide

Ba mhaith liom féin agus foireann na scoile fáilte a chur romhaibh go suíomh gréasáin Gaelscoil Éanna. Tá Gaelscoil Éanna ar oscailt le breis is 40 bliain. Táimid ag cur oideachas tré mheán na Gaeilge amháin ar fáil sa scoil.

Scoil lán-ghaelach Chaitliceach faoi phatrúnacht an Easpaig is ea Gaelscoil Éanna. Tá an scoil á riaradh de réir rialacha na Roinne Oideachais agus Eolaíochta. Tá 149 dalta ag freastal ar an scoil anois le foireann de deichniúr múinteoir, cúntóir riachtanais speisialta agus rúnaí.

D’oscail Gaelscoil Éanna i mí Mheán Fómhair 1980 faoi stiúr príomhoide  Eibhlín Ní Éalaithe ( Bean Uí Chearnaigh) i seomra feisteas i bPáirc Tailteann. Bhí dháréag páiste ag freastal ar an scoil ag an am. An bhliain dár gcionn, bhog an scoil go Scoil Naomh Phóil, Tailte na Mainistreach, áit a d’fhanamar  ar feadh ceithre bliana nó mar sin. Bhí trí sheomra ann ansin. Bhí na huimhreacha agus líon na múinteoiri ag fás an t-am ar fad. Chuige sin, bhogamar ar aghaidh go dtí an seana Cheardscoil i lár bhaile na hUaimhe. Bhí ceithre sheomra thuas staighre ag an scoil agus toisc go raibh méadú ar na huimhreacha, chuir an Roinn Oideachais ceithre sheomra réamh dhéanta ar fáil. Bhí ochtar múinteoir ranga agus príomhoide ag an scoil ag an am sin. D’fhanamar ann go dtí gur bhogamar go dtí an foirgneamh nua i 2002.

Táimid sona sásta anseo ó shin leis an bhfoirgneamh breá atá againn agus na háiseanna iontacha atá againn sa scoil ,stáitse agus halla breá, an Astro, cúirteanna cispheile, clós súgartha  den scoth, agus páirceáil do ghluaisteáin agus busanna. Bainimid taitneamh agus tairbhe as an teicneolaíocht is déanaí le clár idirghníomhach i ngach seomra ranga agus ipadanna ar fáil chomh maith.

Tá súil againn go rachaidh an t-am a chaithfidh do leanbh linn chun tairbhe dó/di.

Tá súil agam go mbaineann sibh taitneamh as ár suíomh agus go bhfoghlaimeoidh sibh faoin scoil agus faoi na himeachtaí atá ar siúl againn.

Príomhoide

A warm welcome from the Príomhoide

I am delighted to welcome you to the website of Gaelscoil Éanna Primary School. We are an all-Irish school under the patronage of the Bishop. We currently have  149 children on our school roll and a team of 10 teachers, a Special Needs Assistant, and a secretary. There are 22 children attending Naíonra Éanna which is an all-Irish preschool located in our building. Gaelscoil Éanna has provided Irish Medium Primary Education in Navan now for over 40 years, and in that time many parents have chosen this school as the first vital step in their child’s education. Our children come from Navan and the surrounding areas.

Gaelscoil Éanna opened its doors in September 1980 in a dressing room in Páirc Tailteann. Eibhlín Ní Éalaithe (Bean Uí Chearnaigh) was appointed as Principal teacher. There were 12 pupils enrolled at this time. The following year the school moved to St. Paul’s Primary School in Abbeylands where we stayed for approximately four years. We had three rooms then. The number of pupils continued to increase along with the number of teachers. We now needed an even bigger home so we moved to the old Vocational School in the centre of Navan town. We had four rooms upstairs and because our pupil numbers continued to grow, the Department of Education provided the school with four prefabricated classrooms. The school now had eight classroom teachers, a special education teacher, and an administrative principal. We remained here until 2002 when we moved into our brand-new school. We are very content here with our fine building and the wonderful facilities, for example, our halla and stage, our recently installed Astro all-weather pitch, basketball courts, large playground and ample parking for both cars and buses. We also have state-of-the-art technology installed in each classroom in the form of an interactive panel per classroom along with ipads for individual pupil use.

Irish at Gaelscoil Éanna is a vibrant day-to-day language. Children acquire the language naturally through its use in their learning, during play, and informally throughout the school day. The children are encouraged to be proud of our language and our culture.

As a Primary School, we actively encourage the involvement of parents and community members in school life. The success of each child’s education is important to us, whatever their ability. We pride ourselves on being a happy, secure, and forward-looking school committed to the highest possible achievement on behalf of our children through an Irish medium environment. Our children are well-mannered and polite and we are very proud of them.

Whether you are a prospective parent or have children already at the school, you can be assured that all staff involved with your children are committed to providing high-quality education across the spectrum.

I would be delighted to personally meet with you and take you around the school to see for yourself the quality of provision we offer. I look forward to meeting with you at some point.

I hope you will find our website useful in helping you to find out about our school and what we do.  Please enjoy your visit!
