Ár Scoil

Aidhmeanna agus Éiteas

Is Scoil Lán-Ghaelach, chomh-oideachasúil  Chaitliceach í Gaelscoil Éanna. Is í an Ghaeilge príomh-theanga labhartha agus cumarsáide na scoile. Déanfar gnó na scoile tré Ghaeilge.

Ba mhaith linn go mbainfeadh gach leanbh taitneamh as an saol scoile. Ba mhaith linn go mbeadh gach leanbh sona iontu féin. Beimid ag cabhrú leis an leanbh an méid is mó a fháil as an gcóras. Chuige sin, glacaimid leis go bhfuil cumais éagsula ag leanaí agus déanfaimid freastal ar riachtanais speisialta gach leanbh. Cuirfear suíomh agus timpeallacht shábháilte foghlama ar fáil.

Bíonn na Múinteoirí mar eiseamláir ag na páistí agus pléifidh gach múinteoir go cothrom, cóir le gach páiste. Beidh na páistí in ann glacadh leis go bhfuil éagsúlachtaí tuairimí agus dearcadh ag daoine.

An Ghaeilge

Bímid ag cothú líofachta i measc na bpáistí. Bíonn amhránaíocht, drámaíocht agus ceol gaelach  á dhéanamh sa scoil.

Beidh grá agus mórtas ag na páistí don Ghaeilge mar theanga beo. Beidh sé ar chumas gach páiste an Ghaeilge a thuiscint, a léamh agus a scríobh go cruinn agus é/í ag fágáil na scoile. Beidh fonn ar gach páiste an Ghaeilge a labhairt sa scoil agus lasmuigh don scoil go toilteannach. Is í an Ghaeilge teanga labhartha na scoile. Ba mhaith linn go labhródh na tuismitheoirí Gaeilge nuair a thagann siad chun na scoile.

Our Aims and Ethos

Gaelscoil Éanna is an All-Irish Catholic co-educational  Primary School under the patronage of the Bishop.. All subjects are taught through the medium of the Irish language except English. English is taught as a separate subject as prescribed by the Department of Education.

We would like to provide a happy school environment for our pupils, thus enabling them to fully benefit from the school curriculum. We accept that children`s abilities vary and we endeavour to cater for these. Gaelscoil Éanna will endeavour to provide a safe learning environment.

Teachers are role models for the children. They will deal in a fair manner with all children. They will help the children to accept others as individuals with different opinions.

An Ghaeilge

The aim of the school is to develop a fluency in Irish for all pupils. An awareness of our culture will be developed through the teaching of Irish songs, music and drama. Each child will be able to speak Irish fluently, understand, read and write the Irish Language. Children will enjoy speaking Irish at school and outside the school. Parents are encouraged to speak Irish when they visit the school. In Junior Infants and Senior Infants Irish is the sole spoken language. This ensures that the Irish Language is firmly embedded prior to commencement of the English Curriculum. This is called the total immersion system -‘ tumoideachas’. The English Curriculum commences at the beginning of First Class.
